Vasavi Malineni, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who performs anterior segment and oculoplastics surgery. These procedures include cataract extraction, glaucoma surgery, blepharoplasty, entropion and ectropion repair. In addition, she also performs LASIK vision correction.
Dr. Malineni utilizes the "sutureless" technique when performing cataract surgery. She uses ReSTOR and Rezoom lenses to correct for near and far vision after cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange. She also uses TORIC intraocular lenses for patients with high astigmatism.
Dr. Malineni attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (B.S. in Biochemistry, cum laude, with Honors and Phi Beta Kappa). She graduated from medical school and finished her Ophthalmology training at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. She joined Texas Eye Institute in August, 2004. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract Society Texas Ophthalmology Association and Texas Medical Association. Dr. Malineni is board certified in Ophthalmology.
