Attention: Coronavirus Texas Eye Institute Visiting Guidance

COVID-19 is a new disease caused by a novel coronavirus. Please take the following precautions to help us protect our patients, clinic, and community.

If you have flu like symptoms and or may have been exposed to the flu or Coronavirus, please contact us by phone prior to your appointment. For everyone's safety, the visitor policy for adult patients is no minors or additional adults allowed unless the patient has mobility or neurological challenges. For pediatric patients, only one parent or guardian may accompany them. No siblings are permitted. Thank you for your cooperation and contribution in the fight against COVID-19. Lastly, please continue wearing a face mask during your visit.

Texas Eye is excited to offer TELEMEDICINE appointments to all patients. We know how stressful this time can be knowing that you have limited access to your medical team. Although we cannot perform many of the tests that you may still need at a later time, you can still schedule a virtual appointment with your doctor to review your current condition, symptoms, and treatment options until you are able to visit us again in person. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THIS FACILITY IF YOU OR ANY MEMBER OF YOUR HOUSEHOLD:

  • Have flu-like symptoms, or
  • Have been in any Coronavirus impacted regions within the last 14 days, or
  • Reside or have had close contact with anyone who has been in Coroanvirus impacted regions within the last 14 days, or
  • Have been directed to quarantine, isolate or self-monitor at home for COVID-19 (coronavirus) by any doctor, hospital, health agency, or public official, or
  • Have been diagnosed with, or have had close contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 (coronavirus). 

If you fit into any of the above categories, please call our office for instructions on how to proceed.

As a healthy visitor, please follow these recommendations:

  • If you are a patient, please ask family and friends to wait in your vehicle
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after your visit.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue (or elbow), then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Keep your distance of at least 3 feet from others.
